The Philippine Archipelago boasts of 7, 107 islands, all of which have something magnificent to offer.

In a little municipality in Santa Ana, Cayagan lies an island that may seem like a tiny speck or a dot in the map, but the beauty and the peace it offers is something bigger than what our tiny hearts could contain.

With the Palaui Islands attracting more and more tourists to appreciate what nature has blessed them, once could definitely say that Santa Ana is one of the many towns in the Philippines that is gifted with so many blessings. It has a beach that stretches over the horizon, a forest that serves as a sanctuary to many endangered animals, people who still appreciate their roots, a lighthouse that has been part of the culture of the place, and mountains that provide you with a majestic view of the whole area. With a view of the mountains that seem to touch the sky and the whole blue stretch of the beach, who wouldn’t be mesmerized?

There are still a number of people who haven’t discovered Palaui Island yet.  This paradise has been treated like a safe haven for people who are just looking for a place to be away with the stresses they encounter. One will surely feel the serenity of the place with only the splashing of the waves, the rustle of the leaves, and the chirping of the birds as your background sounds.

Undoubtedly, the beauty of Palaui Island hasn’t been abused, nor taken for granted. With only few people visiting the place, the pristine beach can still give the tourists a sense of tranquility that they desperately need.

If you are the type of person who doesn’t want to just sit around and is yearning for adventure, hiking and trekking to see Cape Engaño Lighthouse is the perfect activity for you.

The lighthouse is now part of Santa Ana’s history when it was built by Spaniards in 1892. What have remained of this lighthouse now are its ruins but it still provides the perfect spot for people to enjoy the view.

Camping in Palaui Island could be a great way to just be in touch with nature and experience camping under the stars if you missed this as a kid. Light a campfire and share stories with your loved ones and friends. Let only the campfire and the moon serve as your light.

With the sea almost embracing the whole island, one could also try diving and snorkeling. This is a perfect way to see that there’s indeed a different world down there with the different and colorful fishes and corals that you could encounter.

Cagayan Valley never stops making tourists fall in love with their must-visit places. Their people are also aware of this that is why they continue to care for what nature had blessed them with.
